New Volunteers

We are pleased to welcome Johanna, 4th year medical student from Loma Linda University. Johanna will begin her OB/GYN residency later this summer.

We also welcome Glaucia, a nurse from Brazil. She plans to be with us in to the beginning of 2014.

Health Expo

We are grateful to the Loma Linda University Students in Mission Service (SIMS) team. They arrived on December 27 working with us to conduct our second Health Expo. Approximately 500 people passed through the exhibits learning about their health and ways to maintain or improve their health.

The team has now returned safely to the United States. It is our mission to foster your total health: spiritual; physical; emotional; and intellectual.

Accepting inpatients

The Seventh-day Adventist Health Centre of Buea is pleased to announce the opening of the upper floor of their inpatient building. Finishing work continues on the ground floor and around the property.

Finishing work

Buea Cameroon – Work began in mid April to correct some items and then complete the construction of the inpatient building of the Seventh-day Adventist Hospital. The work has entailed removing the iron security bars and extending them 6 cm from the wall. Once the bars were removed the sills were sanded to tilt to the outside of the building and mosquito screens were added. With the iron bars replaced, the remaining tile work began. Work has also begun in repairing an old septic tank and creating a new one. The staff and administration are hopeful that the exterior work will be complete before the heavy rains come.

American Foreign Service Protective Association

Buea 7th day Adventist Health Centre is pleased to announce that we now accept the American Foreign Service benefit plan. This plan covers more than 35,000 individuals worldwide. We are pleased to be part of their system of coverage.

New Service

Buea 7th Day Adventist Hospital is pleased to announce that we are now able to do ultrasounds for our clients.

Adventist Youth Day

Buea Seventh-day Adventist Health Centre hosted Adventist Youth day on December 26.  About 40 young people from around the West Cameroon Mission hiked Mt Cameroon and joined us for Sabbath services.  You can see some photos of the event here.

LLU SM Auxiliary supports B7AH

In the latest edition of its newsletter, Loma Linda University School of Medicine (LLU SM) has approved two projects – one of which is for Buea Adventist Hospital.  You can read it here (PDF) on page 13.
